$20,000 for Schools

$20,000 will be given away this year to area schools. One of the most important things they can do for our community is help get more funds into area classrooms. This year $20,000 will be divided among participating schools. The division of funds is based on number of finalists and number of entries from each school.

Note to schools: Each school with over 50 students that assigns Caring for the Kenai will automatically receive $750. In addition, students who receive a Semi-Finalist Sponsorship Award will earn $50 for their classrooms.

Student Recognition Awards

In addition to cash prizes for the students and schools, CFK offers a recognition program by inviting organizations, businesses, and individuals in the community to create an award for a CFK entry of their selection. Last year, close to twenty sponsors participated.

The type of student recognition is up to the sponsor. It could be a gift certificate, cash award, facility tour, jacket or t-shirt, certificate of commendation, dinner with a corporate executive, or plaque.
